Accc Acts On "aussie Beer"

The Independent Liquor Group (ILG) has paid a penalty of $10,200 following the issue of an infringement notice by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in relation to its “Aussie Beer” product.

Newcastle Cbd Gets Another On-Site Brewery

Whilst it is not the first location in Newcastle to do so, it is the most recent and is to be managed by someone who has a wealth of experience in the field.

Former Murray’s master beer maker Shawn Sherlock will soon make the first brew in what will be Newcastle’s only venue to boast an on-site brewery.

When it opens mid-April, Foghorn Brewhouse Pizzeria & Diner will serve a range of traditional Belgium-style beers, poured fresh from four 1800-litre tanks behind the bar, and six on-site fermenters.

‘‘You can’t get more fresh or more craft than drinking beer made from the brewer’s own hands and poured fresh from the tanks in his brewery,’’ Mr Sherlock said.

"experts" Review Canned Beer

The following article is available on the "Good Food" website (http://www.goodfood.com.au/good-food/drink/the-tinnie-taste-test-experts-put-21-cans-of-beer-to-the-...) and is written by a number of apparent industry experts who drank and reviewed and number of canned beers - plotting them against each other to rank them in order of best to worst canned beer.

The results are confusing to say the least. They've ranked VB above beers such as Oettinger Pils and not far off Founders All-day IPA.

New functionality has just been enabled to allow you to search for a beer using it's barcode, or UPC for our international visitors.

Searching is easy, simply use the syntax upc:xxxxxxxx in the search field at the top of the screen. For example searching for upc:892376002012 will find the beer Believer Double Red Ale.

Our UPC database is ever growing so if you happen to find something that isn't included, please feel free to contact us via the forum or email and we will update the database.
